Objectives The Master in Public Administration (MPA) Program aims to support the College’s philosophy and objectives by providing advanced training for men and women for distinguished careers in local and national government and /or in non-profit organizations, dealing with critical public policy issues. This shall be accomplished by providing each graduate student with (a) substantial theoretical and technical skills in policy analysis, quantitative analysis, qualitative analysis, budgeting and public management, (b) a strong appreciation of the importance of public service to society, (c) a thorough understanding of the political processes that influence government decision making, locally and internationally, (d) a strong set of interpersonal skills and experience in group work, which are part and parcel of the public workplace, and (e) an appreciation of the role public policy research plays in shaping current and future policy decisions. Curriculum The MPA Program offers a Plan A (Thesis Program) and a Plan B (Non-thesis Program). To graduate, a student under Plan A must complete the basic courses, the major courses, two cognates and submit a thesis. Under Plan B, a student must complete the basic and major courses and four cognates. The curriculum consists of the following subjects. |
