The JRU Heavy Bombers is the collegiate basketball team fielded by JRU for National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) basketball tournament. The team beefed up its arsenal in 2010 when it enlisted the services of new head coach, JRU alumnus and PBA Most Valuable Player Vergel Meneses.

JRU then JRC won its first NCAA title in 1949 with the team coached by Mateo Adao with Olympian Edgardo Fulgencio as top henchman. JRU once again took the championship home in 1961.
