Jose Rizal University has worked diligently to uphold its commitment to all its stakeholders – “We care about good education.” In its ongoing pursuit to raise the bar in terms of academic standards and to provide education of utmost quality, JRU has recently been granted Autonomous Status by the Commission on Higher Education (Resolution No. 013-2009 dated October 6, 2009).
Autonomy is the highest award given by the Philippine Government to a university or college, representing the best in quality education and academic excellence. It is the gold standard 1,700 colleges and universities in the Philippines strive to achieve. Currently, only 2% of the academic institutions in the country have accomplished this and 15 come from the National Capital Region.
